JAG hearing scheduled

FLINT TWP. — The FY2016 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Public Hearing will be held during the regular Flint Township Board meeting at 7 p.m. on June 20. The purpose of this meeting is to allow community discussion about proposed spending of funds of the JAG program. — R.S.

Church annual car show gearing up

FLINT TWP. — The Central Church of the Nazarene on Bristol Road will host its 5th annual Car & Truck Show on July 3, featuring an array of classic, sports and exotic cars. The display will be held before and after church service from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and from noon to 2 p.m. Refreshments will be provided. Also 100 goodie bags presented to owners of the first 100 vehicles will include $25 gift cards for 10 lucky winners. Downtown fundraiser

FLINT — The White Party “Summer Breeze” will be held from 6-10 p.m. Saturday, June 18 at the Flint Farmer’s Market Terrace, 300 E. First Street, hosted by the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority. Requested attire is all white accented by your favorite color Music will be provided by DJ Father Abrams. Light food and a cash bar will be offered. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door. Proceeds will benefit the fraternity and sorority’s scholarship funds. — R.S.

Senior center fundraiser

FLINT TWP. — Vendors are being sought to participate in a Parking Lot Sale to be held from 9 a.m. to 3 pm. Friday, July 15 at the Flint Township/Carman-Ainsworth Senior Center, 2071 S. Variety of events at GDL in June

FLINT TWP. — The Genesee District Library is hosting a variety of family events during the month of June. The Flint Township-McCarty Library will hold the Nature of Chocolate on June 21 at 5:30 p.m. Laurel Zoet, naturalist and former pastry chef, will share the ecology, history and manufacturing techniques of chocolate and provide eight samples for tasting. And wrapping up the month, The Genesee Valley Center Library (Sears Wing) will present a Gemini Family Concert on June 25 at 4 p.m. Everyone is invited to sing along at this highly interactive, family friendly concert featuring twin brothers Sandor and Laszlo Slomovits. — R.S.
