Senior center fundraisers
FLINT TWP. — You never know what treasures you might find picking through a yard sale. The same goes for the Parking Lot Sale at the Flint Township/Carman-Ainsworth Senior Center, to be held from 9 a.m. to 3 pm. Friday, July 15. The center is located at 2071 S. Graham Road. GDL skunk event
FLINT TWP. — The Genesee District Library McCarty branch, 2071 S Graham Rd, will present “The Secret Lives of Skunks” on July 26 at 5:30 p.m. A live, de-scented skunk will be on hand and Laurel Zoet from Nature on the Go will show that there’s much more to skunks than their notorious smell. — R.S.
School board candidates have until July 26 to file
GENESEE COUNTY — Please be advised that the filing deadline to appear on the November 2016 ballot for Local School Board and Community College Candidates is Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at 4 p.m.

Picnic for Adopt-A-Pet
FENTON — Adopt-A-Pet of Fenton is holding its 11th Annual Picnic fundraiser 3-10 p.m., July 16. The event is on-site at 13575 N. Fenton Rd., Fenton and will help raise money to provide needed services for the hundreds of dogs and cats.
The picnic offers family-oriented fun, complete with BBQ food and refreshments, kid’s activities with a bounce house, beer tent and tours of the facility. Local bands including the AllDay MonDay, Ari, Indie Martin, Nikkei Holland, Ha Li and Decayed Grace will perform. The event is open to the public and there is a minimum $10 per person donation taken at the door.
