School board candidates have until July 26 to file

GENESEE COUNTY — Please be advised that the filing deadline to appear on the November 2016 ballot for Local School Board and Community College Candidates is July 26 at 4 p.m. A list of available positions within the school districts along with information on how to file for candidacy is available on the Genesee County Clerk’s webpage at: http:// rtments/countyclerksl/ schoolboard candidateinformation.php

Hopefully, an early reminder will bring in a majority of candidates rather than having them all turn up at the last minute. Also, it might inspire the school superintendents to put the word out to the respective boards.

July 26 is also the deadline for open village seats. Those candidates are required to file an Affidavit of Identity at their local Township Clerk’s office and file for Campaign Finance at the County Clerk’s office. Contact your Township Clerk for filing requirements. — G.G.
