Concert benefit for Flint

FLINT TWP. — “To Flint with Love,” featuring Shani Womack & Friends, a benefit concert and CD release will be held at 6 p.m. Sunday, August 28 at the Flint Central Church of the Nazarene, 1261 W. Bristol Road. Admission is free but donations are requested. Proceeds will go to the Community Foundation, Flint Child Development Fund to help meet long-term needs of children affected by lead exposure in city water. Womack, who was born and raised in Flint, is known best for her jazzy and soulful take on Gospel and embracing Christian Neo-Soul. Her CD will be available for purchase at the fundraiser. Libraries, local businesses team up to promote National Library Card Signup Month

GENESEE COUNTY — The Flint Public Library and the Genesee District Library are partnering with community businesses for Library Card Sign-Up Month with a “Show Your Card and Save” promotion. During the month of September, cardholders will receive discounts and special offers from nearly 40 Genesee County businesses simply by showing their library cards. Vendors sought for bazaar

FLINT TWP. — The scholarship committee at New Creation Church of God, 3472 Lennon Rd., will hold a Fall Craft Bazaar, September 17, from 10 AM to 3 PM. Vendors are needed (crafts, retail, arts, baked goods, and services). Tables are $20 each. Vendor packets can be picked up at the church office Monday through Friday 9-4.
