Bikes on the Bricks this weekend
FLINT TWP. — The 10th annual Bikes on the Bricks police-escorted motorcycle ride will start at 11 a.m. Saturday at Vehicle City Harley-Davidson dealership on Miller Road next to I-75. It will follow a 30-mile course north, east and south to West Court Street in downtown Flint where other activities will take place including a police motorcycle competition. Vendors sought for church Craft Bazaar on Sept. 17
FLINT TWP. — The scholarship committee at New Creation Church of God, 3472 Lennon Rd., will hold a Fall Craft Bazaar, Sept. 17, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Vendors are needed (crafts, retail, arts, baked goods, and services). Tables are $20 each. Vendor packets can be picked up at the church office Monday through Friday 9-4. Call 810-732-0500 for more information. Golfers invited to benefit tournament on Sept. 25
FLINT TWP. — Attention Golfers: There still is time to sign up for the Barry Saunders Invitational Golf Scramble on Sunday, Sept. 25, sponsored by Men at W.O.R.K., a father’s organization. Funds go towards Carman-Ainsworth’s popular Winterfest 2016 which provides food, coats and toys for needy families during the holidays. The golf outing will be held at Fenton Farms Golf Club, 12312 Torrey Rd. in Fenton. Registration is at 7 a.m. and tee off at 8.a.m. Cost is $75 per person or $300 a team of 4. The Whisnants in free church concert
FLINT TWP. — Come on out for a wonderful night of Southern Gospel music at Central Church of the Nazarene on Sunday, October 2. Special guests will be The Thurstons. This is a non-ticketed event but a love offering will be received. In more than 40 years, The Whisnants have performed all across the nation and around the world, including Canada, Hawaii and cruises sailing to the Bahamas, Belize and Mexico. The trio has celebrated 13 #1 songs spanning from 2001 to 2013 and their first single for 2014, “He Can Move That Stone,” was nominated as a Top 10 Favorite Song in the Singing News Fan awards (2014).
