Friends of the Flint Public Library Fall Used Book Sale

FLINT — The Friends of the Flint Public Library Fall Used Book Sale will take place at the Flint Public Library, 1026 E. Kearsley.

Dates & Times:

Oct. 18 – preview for members of the Friends. Memberships may be purchased at door.

Oct. 19 – 20 – noon to 7:30 p.m.

Oct. 21 – 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. – half price sale

Oct. 22 – 10 5 p.m. – bag sale, $5/bag, we supply the bags.

Sale includes books, VHS, DVDs, CDs, records, audio cassettes and some audio books. Most items are $1 or less. Appraised items are also available at halfprice. — G.G.

Hanna-Attisha to be honored by Boys & Girls Clubs

FLINT — The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Flint and emcee, ABC12’s Marc Jacobson will welcome more than 200 guests to the Flint Farmers’ Market on Oct. 19, to celebrate the 14th Annual Suits & Sauce Dinner presented by Fathead, LLC; QuickenLoans and Famous Dave’s BBQ.

The 9th Annual Patrick McInnis Community Hero Award will be presented to Dr. Mona Hanna-Attisha at this year’s ceremony. The evening kicks off at 6 p.m. with a silent auction and cocktail hour followed by dinner at 7 p.m.

Dr. Mona Hanna-Attisha will join other distinguished past award honorees such as Congressman Dan Kildee, Dr. Nita Kulkarni, Judge Duncan Beagle, Detroit Shock, Tom Izzo, and Congressman Dale E. Kildee.

Hanna-Attisha is being honored for her dedication and support of youth, as well as our families throughout our community.

The Suits & Sauce Dinner is a key component in the success of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Flint.
