Name change committee meeting tonight

FLINT TWP. — A committee being formed to explore the idea of changing the township’s name is due to meet again at 6 p.m. tonight, Thursday October 20. at the township hall. Last chance: Get your Pig Roast Tickets

FLINT TWP. — The Flint Township Senior Center’s 5th annual Pig Roast is planned for noon to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 22 at the center, 2071 S. Graham Road. Hazardous waste and electronics recycling day set at two sites

FLINT TWP. — Household Hazardous Waste, Electronics and Appliance Recycle Day is scheduled from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 22 at Trinity Assembly of God, 4363 W. Mt. Morris Road in Mt. Morris, and Flint East-Water Service Center, 3310 E. Court St. in Flint. Keep Genesee County Beautiful partners with the City of Flint and Genesee County Metropolitan Planning Commission to conduct two Household Hazardous Waste Collection events each year. GENESEE COUNTY — Nominations are now open for The Flint & Genesee Chamber of Commerce and the Convention and Visitors Bureau’ third-annual Art of Achievement Awards. The awards honor outstanding business and community leadership in Genesee County. Categories include the CEO Business Award, Small Business Award, Minority-Owned Business Award, Claire M. White Award, Young Professional Leader Award, Nonprofit Impact Award, Gloria J. DeHart Award, Hospitality Ambassador Award, Frontline Ambassador Award, Restaurant of the Year, Hotel of the Year and Community Champion Award.
