Trick or Treating at mall
FLINT TWP. — Trick or Treating at Genesee Valley Mall will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on October 29 when the Genesee District Library mall branch hosts its annual Lil’ Monsters Halloween Bash. At 10 a.m., trick or treat bags will be handed out in front of the library (located in the Sears wing) followed by a Monster Mash dance at noon and storytelling and a spooky animal show from 12:15 to 1:15 p.m. at Center Court — R.S.
Gofundme set up for ailing CAMS student
FLINT TWP. — Breathing and staying healthy have been a life-long struggle for Kloe Begley, 13, a student at Carman- Ainsworth Middle School who was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis as an infant. Kloe is scheduled to undergo the first step in having a double lung transplant which involves medical testing in Pittsburgh on November 7. She and her family will be there for about a week. Used book sales at library
FLINT TWP. — Friends of McCarty Library will hold a Used Book sale from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., Thursday, October 27 and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday, October 28m at the library, 2071 S Graham Road. Also, Friends of the Genesee Valley Center library will be holding a DVD/ Book sale from 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., Friday, October 28 and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday October 29, at the library located in the Sears wing of the mall, 3293 S Linden Road. — R.S.
C-A hiring playground attendants
FLINT TWP. — Carman-Ainsworth elementary schools need lunch/playground supervisors to assist students in the lunchroom and on the playground. Pay is $8.50 per hour. Anyone interested can contract the main office at any elementary school building – Dye, Randels, Rankin and Dillon. — R.S.
Holiday donations sought
FLINT TWP. — Donations are needed for the annual Bendle/Carman-Ainsworth Toy Giveaway. They will be accepting donations of gently used toys from now until November 30 at The Learning Community building, 1181 W. Scottwood Avenue. They are always in particular need of gifts for teens, such as: CD’s, iTunes gift cards, MP3 Players, books and video games.
