Free day at Children’s Museum in Flint

FLINT — Youngsters can visit the Flint Children’s Museum for free from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 13.

Hurley Children’s Hospital and Kohl’s Cares are sponsoring the Kohl’s Cares for Healthy Kids event (www.KohlsHurleyKids.com) that includes fitness demonstrations, opportunities to make Grinchkabobs and more than 40 hands-on exhibits.

Mahler’s Symphony No. 3

FLINT — The Flint Symphony Orchestra will present Gustav Mahler’s exuberant Symphony No. 3 at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, at The Whiting.

Conductor Enrique Diemecke will lead the performance by mezzo-soprano Jane Bunnell, the Flint Symphony Chorus and Ann Arbor Youth Chorale.

2016 print fair

FLINT — Open to the public, the 6th Flint Print Fair at the Flint Institute of Arts will include eight print dealers, featuring a wide range of prints, drawings and photographs from Old Masters to contemporary works. The free fair is Saturday, Nov. 19 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 20 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Works will range in price from $200 to several thousand dollars. This is an opportunity for novice collectors to begin their collections and for connoisseurs to add works to existing collections.

Faculty concert

FLINT — Flint School of Performing Arts will continue its faculty concert series at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 18 in the MacArthur Recital Hall.

Jazz pianist Roger Jones, with guest DeAnna Weeden, will perform. All concerts are free and open to the public but seating is limited to 271. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Receptions provided by Allegro follow all concerts.
