Locating business in Flint workshop
FLINT – “Discover Flint: Locating and Opening a Business in Flint” is a free workshop designed to help Flint-based businesses understand how the city’s new Master Plan and proposed zoning ordinance update will impact their business.
This is an important information session about the do’s and don’ts of picking a location for a business especially concerning zoning and approved uses that a prospective business property owner needs to understand before making a lease or buy decision.
This workshop will also include information about resources from the City, Genesee County Land Bank, Flint and Genesee Chamber of Commerce, and others that can help businesses locate and/or expand in Flint to leverage use of land, one of the county’s greatest assets.
In addition, a copy of a new community resource, a City of Flint Start Up Guide, will be available to attendees. It was prepared by the Michigan Small Business Development Center (MI-SBDC) in partnership with the Flint and Genesee Chamber of Commerce and the City of Flint.
Sponsored by the MI-SBDC, this workshop will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Tuesday, Nov. 22 in the Campus Center at Kettering University.
Registration is required separately for each individual attending (seating is limited) but the workshop is available at no cost due to additional assistance funds provided to Flint for 2016 by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA). To register go to: tinyurl.com/ zbf6m3g. – L.R.
