Catch final performance of middle school play tonight

FLINT TWP. — There still is time to catch the final performance of the Carman- Ainsworth Middle School play, “I Wish,” a fairy tale, tonight, January 19, at 7 p.m. Tickets are $3 for students and $5 for adults. Senior citizens and children under 4 are admitted free. — R.S.

Benefit for firefighter Paul Roop is Saturday

FLINT TWP. — The Firefighter Paul Roop Benefit Spaghetti Benefit Dinner is being planned for 1-4 p.m. Saturday, January 21 at the VFW Hall-, G-4138 Corunna Road. Roop, a 20-year member of the Flint Township Fire Department, was diagnosed with stage 4 Cell B Lymphoma in October 2016. Admission is $8 at the door for adults and free for children age 5 and under. A raffle, bake sale and door prizes will be part of the event. Proceed will help the Roop family pay medical bills. — R.S.

Senior Citizens dance

FLINT TWP. — Mark your Calendars: The Senior Citizen Center, 2071 Graham Road, will host Dance Night from 6- p.m. on Friday, January 27, featuring music by the Fairlanes and Devilles, an oldies band. Church concert features home-based talent

FLINT TWP. — A concert by the Justified Quartet is planned for 6 p.m. Sunday, January 29 at Central Church of the Nazarene, 1261 W. Bristol Rd. Justified has been singing as a quartet since November 2011. Central Church is the home church for three quartet members – Tim Caldwell, David Potts and Carl Ledford. Mark Jacoby is the fourth member. The four men have either sung or played with other gospel quartets over the past 20 years, and have now banded together. A love offering will be received. — R.S.

Annual parent/child dance coming next month

FLINT TWP. — The Daddy/Daughter Mother/Son Dance for students at Dye and Randels Elementary Schools will be held from 6-8 p.m. on February 10 at Rankin School. Admission is $20 per couple plus $3 for each additional child. The 10th annual Daddy/Daughter Mother/Son Dance for Rankin and Dillon Elementary Schools and The Learning Community will also be held at Rankin from 6-8 p.m. on February 11 Admission is. $20 per couple plus $3 for a second child.
