FLINT TWP. — The Carman-Ainsworth Education Foundation will host its Third Annual Silent Auction for kids at 5:30 p.m., Friday, April 28, at Flushing Valley Golf Club & Banquet Center, 1124 E. Main Street in Flushing, Honorees will be Bonnie Haffajee (retired elementary principal), Benjamin Jones (high school band director), and Lisa Koegel (parent and new school board member). Senior Citizens dance date changed
FLINT TWP.— The Senior Center, 2071 Graham Road, has changed the date of its Dance Night. Instead of this weekend, the event has been rescheduled from 6- 8 p.m. on Friday, February 24. It will, featuring music by the Fairlanes and Devilles, an oldies band. Tickets are $5 each. Pop and pizza-by-the-slice will be sold for $1 each. Church concert features home-based talent
FLINT TWP. — A concert by the Justified Quartet is planned for 6 p.m. Sunday, January 29 at Central Church of the Nazarene, 1261 W. Bristol Rd. Justified has been singing as a quartet since November 2011. Central Church is the home church for three quartet members – Tim Caldwell, David Potts and Carl Ledford. Mark Jacoby is the fourth member. The four men have either sung or played with other gospel quartets over the past 20 years, and have now banded together. A love offering will be received. — R.S.
Annual parent/child dance coming next month
FLINT TWP. — The Daddy/Daughter Mother/Son Dance for students at Dye and Randels Elementary Schools will be held from 608 p.m. on February 10 at Rankin School. Admission is $20 per couple plus $3 for each additional child. The 10th annual Daddy/Daughter Mother/Son Dance for Rankin and Dillon Elementary Schools and The Learning Community will also be held at Rankin from 6-8 p.m. on February 11 Admission is. $20 per couple plus $3 for a second child.
