Ellegood named corporate director of service lines at McLaren Health Care
FLINT — Cheryl Ellegood has been named Corporate Director of Service Lines at McLaren Health Care. She began the position on Jan. 30.
In her new corporate role, Ellegood is responsible for the collaborative development and implementation of systemwide operating plans for cardiovascular, neuroscience, orthopedic and telemedicine service lines. In addition to working with leadership at the subsidiary hospitals, Ellegood will work in concert with service line medical directors and participating physicians to implement clinical best practices across the system.
Prior to assuming this new position, Ellegood worked for 15 years at McLaren Flint. She most recently served as Vice President of Business Development and Clinical Services, orchestrating the expansion of many specialty services at McLaren Flint. She was also tapped to lead the development of the McLaren Stroke Network, which represents the corporation’s first systemwide initiative that utilizes telemedicine to connect providers with highly specialized physicians to facilitate immediate diagnosis and treatment of patients.
Ellegood earned a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Colorado and a bachelor’s of science degree from Weber State University. — G.G.
Door prizes include $1,000 scholarships to Baker
FLINT TWP. — Prospective college students are invited to a free information session where they and their parents or guardians can learn about college funding, academic program options and what needs to be done before the start of college.
It is set for March 4, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and hosted by Baker College’s Flint campus, though it is open to all prospective college students, whether or not they have identified Baker College as a college of choice. Check-in opens at 10:45 a.m. Door prizes include three $1,000 scholarships at Baker College of Flint.
Because lunch is provided, reservations are required no later than March 1.
Attendees can take an assessment that matches them with 10 career choices based on their interests and personality. Faculty members will be available to provide information about academic programs, and current students will talk about what college is like from a student’s perspective.
Financial services advisors will review the various types of financial aid and help those who have not completed the Free Application for Financial Student Aid (FAFSA).
