The Elated Flute Center for the Creative Arts concert

GENESEE COUNTY — The Elated Flute Foundation, Grace Center for the Creative Arts, presents a free musical concert featuring Paris Delane and Antonio Musse, saxophonist. The concert will include Mott Middle College students and takes place March 27 from 9-10:30 a.m. at Mott Community College, the Mott Memorial Building Auditorium, 1401 E. Court St.

The Grace Center for the Creative Arts and its parenting foundation, The Elated Flute Foundation, provides opportunities for youth to explore their talents in various art mediums. — G.G.

Marbles Tournament for Genesee boys, girls

SWARTZ CREEK — The marbles club at New Life Wesleyan Church in Swartz Creek on Linden south of Maple is having a tournament April 9 at 10:30 a.m. for boys and girls who reside in Genesee County, ages 7 to 14, on June 10. The boy and girl winner will be eligible to go to the National Marbles Tournament in Wild Wood New Jersey in June to compete.

The tournament to find the Genesee County champion is free. The winning boy and girl will have to pay their own costs to attend the National Marbles Tournament in June. Details: Visit www.nationalmarblestournament.org/ G.G.

MCC to host Middle East & North Africa Cultural Fair

FLINT — The International Institute and Foreign Languages Center at Mott Community College (MCC) will host a Middle East & North Africa Cultural Fair March 30 from noon to 3 p.m. in the Event Center on the Flint campus. The event is free and open to the public.

Participants will receive a passport to “travel” through the Middle East and North Africa learning about a rich cultural history through food, music, art, games, language and conversation.

The Cultural Fair will feature Arabic students at MCC teaching participants how to write their name in Arabic and sharing basic cultural facts. There will be a trivia game and selfie station with props and cultural regalia, and a Henna table where participants can get a Henna tattoo. There will also be music performances and traditional Arabic dance demonstrations.

Additionally, there will be a station with Syrian refugees who are willing to talk about their experiences as refuges and recent immigrants. — G.G.

Kidney group to meet

FLINT — This is the 10th year of the Kidney Cancer Support group. All programs are open to the public. They meet at the Genesys Hurley Cancer Institute, Robt. T.
