Dinner planned for fallen solider
FLINT TWP. — A Highway Sign Dedication dinner to honor the memory of Joe Johnson, a Carman-Ainsworth graduate, is set for 5-8 p.m., on Wednesday June 14, 2017 at the Canadian Steak and Fish Restaurant, 3235 W Thompson Rd, Fenton. Johnson, who died in combat on June 16, 2010, in Afghanistan. recently had a portion of U.S. 23 named in his honor. The Joe Johnson Foundation is planning an evening of fun, a silent auction, and food featuring Joe’s favorite – macaroni & cheese with hotdogs in it. Robotics showcase set
FLINT TWP. — “More than a Robot,’’ and open house by the Carman-Ainsworth robotics team is being planned for 6:30- 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 27 at the Atlantis Alternative High School, G-3493 Beveridge Road.
