Church hosting comedy show, car show July 2

FLINT TWP. — Singer, comedian and storyteller Allison Speer of Nashville, Tenn. will appear live in concert at 10:25 a.m. on Sunday July 2 at Central Church of the Nazarene, 1261 West Bristol Road. The church will then host its God & Country Service at 11 a.m. featuring honors for Armed Services personnel and veterans; first responders (police, fire and paramedics); Central’s choir and orchestra with Speer and a special message from Pastor Rob Prince. Also on that same day the church’s annual Car & Truck Show will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the parking lot. — R.S.

Donations sought for Sept. robotics yard sale

FLINT TWP. —Donations are being sought for the annual Carman-Ainsworth Robotics Yard Sale Fundraiser to be held from 9am – 5 pm. Saturday, September 2, Sunday, September 3 & Monday, September 4 at 5301 S. Dyewood Drive, Flint in between Court St and Calkins off Dye Rd. All proceeds go to the robotics team. “That Day is Coming” bus tour rescheduled

FLINT TWP. — Tickets are not needed but a love offering will be received for a rescheduled concert by the renown Collingsworth Family at 6 p.m. Sunday, July 9 at Central Church of the Nazarene, 1261 W Bristol Road. “That Day is Coming” is the newest full-scale studio project for the Collingsworth Family who have sung and played all over the United States. Schools closed all week

FLINT TWP. — The Carman-Ainsworth school district will be closed July 3 – July 7. There will be no staff or office personnel in any of the buildings. If you need to contact someone in one of the administrative offices, you can do so on Monday, July 10. — R.S.
