FLINT TWP. — Rather than have a guest speaker at its November monthly meeting, the West Flint Business Association sets aside the time to shine the spotlight on its members, giving each one the floor for a minute to share updates on their products or services. The group will meet from noon to about 1:5 p.m. on Thursday, November 16 at Logan’s Roadhouse, 4044 Miller Road. No reservations are necessary and purchasing lunch is optional — R.S.

FLINT TWP. — Registration for the 2018 Senior Winter Games started November 6, said Pam Luna, director of the Flint Township Senior Center. The event is observing its 40th year of competition. The registration cost is $12 per person and includes an opening and closing ceremony. 2018 sponsors include Genesee County Senior Millage, UAW Region 1D, Huntington Bank, The Moen Group Inc., and Valley Area Agency on Aging! The events will be held in February at various senior facilities countywide and include a long list of competitions ranging from arts and crafts to karaoke, line dancing, baking and lawn bowling. Luna said she will be putting up posters about the event but anyone interested in signing up can do so at the senior center. — R.S.

Pure Bliss Salon sponsors Weiss fundraiser

MUNDY TWP — Pure Bliss Salon and spa will host a “Denim & Diamonds” fundraiser to benefit the Weiss Child Advocacy Center in their mission to help prevent child abuse and neglect in Genesee County.
