Firefighters manning Red Kettle drive

FLINT TWP. — Look for the Flint Township Fire Fighters again this year for their Salvation Army Red Kettle Drive. They will be manning the kettles at the Wal-Mart Store on Corunna Road all day on December 9. — R.S.

Support Robotics Team gift-wrapping

FLINT TWP. — Big MO, the Carman- Ainsworth High School robotics team, will be at Genesee Valley Center shopping mall, in front of Macy’s, wrapping gifts for donations from 11 am to 9 pm on Saturday, December 9 and 16. Shoppers are invited to save some time by stopping out and having all their gifts wrapped, All donations will go towards purchasing supplies for their 2018 robotics competition season.— R.S.

WFBA hosting 18th holiday fundraiser

FLINT TWP. — Cash, gift cards and gift baskets will be among about 70 prizes to be won at the West Flint Business Association’s 18th Annual Holiday Scholarship Fundraiser, from 11:30 a.m. Until 1:15 p.m. on Thursday, December 14 at the Golden Corral restaurant, 4200 Miller Road; No reservations are needed and the public is invited. Lunch costs $10.25 per person and includes beverage and tip. Prize tickets will be sold two for $5. Prize drawings will start at 12:30 p.m. and there is no limit on how many times you can win. Proceeds will benefit three educational scholarships awarded annually by the WFBA. — R.S.

World-renown quartet to perform at local church

FLINT TWP. — Christmas with Ernie Haase plus Signature Sound will be presented at 6 p.m. December 10 by Central Church of the Nazarene, 1261 W. Bristol Road. No tickets are required but a love offering is requested. Formed in 2003, EHHS is a popular Grammynominated Southern Gospel quartet that has entertained all over the world. — R.S.

It’s party time

MUNDY TWP. — The 33rd World’s Greatest Office Party will be held from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. tonight, Thursday, Dec. 7, at the Holiday Inn Gateway Centre. The “party with a purpose” is one of three major annual events Whaley Children’s Center (WCC) hosts to help fund its nationally accredited residential and clinical programs for abused and neglected children. The Moulin Rouge- themed party will feature the Brena Band, a DJ from Black Tie Productions, other entertainment, a silent auction and various raffles. All proceeds directly benefit WCC. General admission tickets are $45 in advance or $50 at the door. VIP tickets available for $75 include an all-access pass into the corporate suites.
