GB Boys Cross Country finishes in seventh place
GRAND BLANC — The Grand Blanc Boys Cross Country Team ran at the Pre- Regional Oct. 24 at the Cummings Center in Mt. Morris. The team finished in 7th place of 8 teams, scoring 186 points. The team will not advance to the Regional Meet next Saturday. Teams qualifying must finish in the top four.
The only individual Bobcat runner to qualify was Drew Balow. His time of 17:44.10 and 25th place finish allowed him to advance to next week’s regional meet. The Bobcat’s number two runner left the race around the two-mile mark with a cramp.
Deandre Chilton Jr. ran 18:09.50 finishing in the 36th spot, Freshman Oscar Paramo cam in next for the GB boys at 18:25.84 and 41st. Brian Simpson was next in for the team at 18:39.94 placing 42nd and follow by teammate Ryan Zannetti in 48th place running 19:01.11.
Griffin Dodd placed 49th at 19:03.89 completing the top six finishers. The Bobcat boys with compete this next Tuesday at Lake Fenton High School with Freshman and Sophomores team members their annual 9th/10th grade cross country classic meet.

Girl’s Cross County on path to Regional and State Meet
GRAND BLANC — The Lady Bobcats continued their path to Regional and State Meet competition this weekend with a win at the Pre-Regional 4 Meet, held Oct. 24, at the Cummings Center in Mt. Morris.
Lola Thomas led the girls with a 1st place finish in 18:21. Sophie Thomas finished 2nd in 19:08. Also scoring for the Lady Bobcats were Samantha Shaver (8th, 20:05), Lydia Minzey (14th, 20:20), and Kennedy Kuhlmann (21st, 20:53). Maya Youngs (32nd, 21:47) and Samantha Wogaman (33rd, 21:50) rounded out the Varsity squad.
The top four teams from Pre-Regional 4 will now meet the top 4 teams from Pre-Regional 3 on Oct. 31, at White Pines Middle School in Saginaw in Regional Competition. The top three teams and seven individuals not from one of the top teams will qualify for the State Meet to be held on Nov. 6.
