FLINT TWP. — Flint Township Police K9 Thor died suddenly April 26, according to a police department press release issued Friday.

The cause of Thor’s death is believed to be heart failure, said Lt. Brad Wangler. Thor was not working at the time of his death.

Thor and his partner, Ofc. Jeremy Meiser, graduated from Oakland K9 Police Academy on Nov. 29, 2018, and served the Flint Township community since their graduation.

During Thor’s career, he helped locate more than 145 grams of cocaine, 30 grams of LSD, and 60 grams of ketamine, and responded to numerous calls for assistance within the township and throughout Genesee County. — L.R.
