FLINT TWP. — Karyn King, a senior at Carman-Ainsworth High School, is one of six Genesee County students to be awarded a $500 scholarship by the Genesee County Association of School Board Members (GCASBM).
The GCASBM scholarships are awarded to students who give back to their community. To be considered for the scholarship, high school seniors must have attained at least a 2.5 high school cumulative grade point average and completed a substantial amount of volunteer community service hours through a school program or other recognized community agency. Along with their application, students must submit an essay describing their academic and/ or vocational goals and the value of community service. — J.J.
