The Swartz Creek Knights of Columbus Council 6694 presented a check in the amount of $1,067 to the Swartz Creek Fine Arts Association. The money represents the proceeds from the Bob Smeets Memorial Coney Night presented each year during the last summer concert. Thomas Roke, secretary of the Knights of Columbus and long-time chairman of the event, and Wayne DeShano, grand knight of the Knights of Columbus, presented the check to Swartz Creek Fine Arts President David Spillane. The Knights said they hoped the presentation would help carry the Fine Arts Association into next season and they look forward to another Coney Night in 2021. The Fine Arts Association canceled the 2020 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic. All of the performers who were scheduled have been re-booked for 2021. “The Swartz Creek Fine Arts Association wishes to thank the Knights, our membership and the community for their support,” said Spillane.
