Lady Bobcats earn two wins at Midland


GRAND BLANC — Kendall Klochack didn’t allow a single run against Midland, April 26, throwing a complete game shutout and leading Bobcats to a 10-0 victory.

The Lady Bobcats secured the victory thanks to six runs in the third inning. Klochack, Sydney Long, and Audrey Kranz powered the big inning with RBIs. Bobcats got things started in the first inning. Klochack grounded out, scoring one run. Bobcats scored six runs in the third inning.

Bobcats’ big bats in the inning were led by an in the park homerun by Kranz, a single by Klochack, and a bomb of a home run by Long. Klochack took the win for Bobcats with Carson Kuhlmann behind the plate. KK allowed two hits and zero runs over six innings, striking out 11, and walking zero. Bobcats racked up 14 hits on the day. Klochack, Annabelle Morningstar, Kuhlmann, Rebecca Oetting, and Long each managed multiple hits for Bobcats. Klochack went 3 for 4 at the plate to lead Bobcats in hits. Bobcats didn’t commit a single error on the field.

In game 2, Sydney Long earned the victory over Midland 10-1 on Monday with Carson Kuhlmann behind the plate. In the first inning, Bobcats got their offense started when Katelyn DeWitt doubled on a 0-2 count, scoring one run.

Bobcats tallied five runs in the third inning. The big inning was thanks to doubles by Carson Kuhlmann and Long and a single by Kendall Klochack. The pitcher lasted seven innings, allowing one hit, and one run while striking out 11 and walking one. Paige Petrusha made a great diving grass catch from second base rubbing a batter of a hit. Annabelle Morningstar was solid at centerfield denying several hits to Midland.

Bobcats totaled 15 hits in the game. Megan Martin, DeWitt, Morningstar, Kuhlmann, Long, and Klochack each collected multiple hits for Bobcats. Martin led Bobcats with three hits in four at bats. — Submitted by GBHS sports
