MT. PLEASANT — The Carman- Ainsworth girls’ bowling team dominated Flint Powers Catholic in Mt. Pleasant on Saturday, 28-2. Kenzey Lord posted scores of 182 and 244, while Quinisha Burnett chipped in with a 190 and 194. Shamonica Simon rolled games of 189 and 197 and Kassidy Lord bowled a 191.
During Sunday’s singles tournament at L’Anse Creuse, Simon, Burnett and Kenzey Lord each finished the day in the top 24 to make the cut. Simon won the whole tournament after lasting an additional six games and recorded final scores of 224-176 and 246-168, clinching the singles championship. The win was the Cavs’ first singles championship in the history of their girls’ bowling program.
The Lady Cavaliers now travel to Bay City John Glenn on Saturday. — B.P.
