SAGINAW — Carman-Ainsworth’s girls’ bowling team earned a seasonopening win over Saginaw Heritage on Saturday, 23-7. In the first game, the Cavaliers had a school record high combined score of 1,077 and a record high series of 2,010. Quinisha Burnett bowled a 253 and 190, while Shamonica Simon rolled a 257 and 167. Kenzey Lord had a 235 and 201 and Kassidy Lord recorded a 179 and 170. Yakira Hughes posted a 162 while Bernardette Gruber has a 196.
“This is the team I expected to come out with a bang and I would not be surprised to surpass these scores later in the season,” said coach Gordon Kaufman.
The Cavs are at Flint Powers Catholic on Saturday and L’anse Creuse on Sunday.
