DAVISON – Carman-Ainsworth girls’ soccer faced an undefeated Swartz Creek team on Tuesday in the Div. 1 district opener at Davison, and lost 9-1. Swartz Creek held a 5-1 lead at halftime. Destinee Lester had Carman-Ainsworth’s lone goal when she scored off a penalty kick in the first half. Keeper Arianna Vantine had 15 saves in net.

Swartz Creek advanced to play Davison in the semifinal on Wednesday following press deadlines. Grand Blanc, which is currently ranked No. 4 in Div. 1, beat Flushing 4-0 in Tuesday’s early game and moved on to face Lapeer. The final two teams will play for the district title at Davison at 6:45 p.m. on Friday.

5-30-17: Flushing vs. Grand Blanc at 5 p.m.; Swartz Creek vs. Carman-Ainsworth at 6:45 p.m.

5-31-17: Lapeer vs. Grand Blanc at 5 p.m.; Davison vs. Swartz Creek at 6:45 p.m.

6-2-17: Finals at 6:45 p.m.
