MT. PLEASANT — With just one regular season matchup left before the Saginaw Valley League meet takes place today and Saturday, the Carman- Ainsworth/Flushing varsity girls’ swim and dive team is peaking at just the right time. Never was that more evident than it was on Oct. 25 when the Lady Cavs went into Mt. Pleasant for a SVA crossover contest and came out with a 125-46 victory.
Winners on the day for Carman- Ainsworth/Flushing include Rebecca Hrit, Ashleigh King, Emily Stemczynski and Selena Adams in the 200 medley relay in 2:12.57, Allia Howard claimed the 200 freestyle in 2:17.31 and Rebecca Bade was third in 2:29.10 and in the 200IM Kayla Seeley topped the podium in 2:42.19 and McKenzie Bartlett was second at 2:51.57. Stemczynski also won the 50 free in 26.76 and Selena Adams was second in 30.03, Bartlett grabbed the 100 fly by clocking in at 1:19.44 and Ashleigh King was second in 1:27.34 and taking the top three spots in the diving were Jennifer Messina with 175.95, Taylor Wheaton had a score of 156.5 and putting up 131.85 points was Kenzy Lord.
In the 200 free relay for the Lady Cavs Bartlett, Seeley, Howard and Stemczynski were first in 1:53.58 and coming in second in 2:12.52 were King, Kenzy Lord, Kassidy Lord and Bade, Howard was victorious in the 100 free in 1:03.55 and Hrit was the runner-up in 1:06.12 and Seeley swam a 6:20.39 to win the 500 free and Bade was second in 6:28.8. As for the 400 free relay, it was Bartlett, Hrit, Seeley and Howard who bested the field in 4:27.28 and taking third at 5:00.88 were Bade, Allison Young, Ashley Jones and Shannon Shaughnessy, King was the winner in the 100 breast in 1:24.26 and Kellie Sharp was third in 1:45.3 and in the 100 back Adams was second at 1:16.33 and Hrit was third in 1:17.19.
