PORT HURON — It has been a season of great strides for the Carman- Ainsworth girls’ golf team as it continues to improve with the postseason starting yesterday. Regional No. 5-1 at Port Huron Golf Club pits Carman- Ainsworth against host Port Huron Northern, Clarkston, No. 7-ranked Davison, Grand Blanc, Lake Orion, Midland, Oxford, Rochester Hills Rochester, No. 3-ranked Rochester Hills Stoney Creek, Rochester Adams, Romeo, Saginaw Heritage and Utica Eisenhower.

The day will be no easy task, however, Meghan Borgerding, as was expected prior to the season, has been the Cavs’ most solid golfer on the course, however, a few other girls have made a name for themselves.

Alanna Gleason has stepped into her own this season, as has Mikaila Garrison, each finding themselves in second place in team scoring on several different occasions. Also helping out this season has been Taylor Jarnigin, solidifying herself in the Carman-Ainsworth lineup. — B.P.
