Lady Cavs place fifth at 20-team tourney

BAY CITY — The Carman- Ainsworth girls’ bowling team continues to show how good they really are, and after solid performances since the beginning of the season, the Cavaliers parlayed that momentum into a fifth place finish at the Bay City John Glenn tournament on Saturday.

Quinisha Burnett secured her spot on the All-Tournament team by rolling a 246 for a total of 642. Kenzey Lord fell just five pins short of clinching her spot on the All-Tournament team, as well, bowling a 218 to total a 602.

“We were having a tough time with the lanes earlier on and couldn’t get on track to bowl what we are capable of bowling,” said coach Gordon Kaufman. “We lost in the first round to Sandusky, two BAKER games to one.”
