FLINT TWP. – The Carman- Ainsworth girls’ basketball team topped Davison 43-29 on Tuesday to win its third straight game to start the season.

Carman-Ainsworth led 12-7 after the first quarter and extended its lead to 21-17 at halftime. The Cavaliers stayed hot in the second half, adding runs of 11-8 and 11-4.

Arie Lewis led the Cavaliers with 15 points and Chenelle King had 10. Aaliyah McQueen chipped in nine.

On Friday, the Lady Cavaliers edged out Flushing 38-30. Flushing led 7-3 after the first but Carman-Ainsworth narrowed Flushing’s lead to 14-13 by halftime. In the third, the Cavs outscored Flushing 15-5, which was the eventual difference-maker, to take a 28-19 lead. The Raiders edged out Carman-Ainsworth 11-10 in the fourth.

King led Carman-Ainsworth with 11 points and Jessiana Aaron had 10.

Carman-Ainsworth, 3-0, hosts Grand Blanc on Friday.
