DAVISON TWP. — Lake Callis and the Davison Township Parks & Recreation office, 1152 N. Gale Rd., were closed last week due to COVID-19 issues.

The park was expected to reopen Wednesday, but could not be confirmed at presstime.

According to the Davison Township Parks & Recreation Facebook page, on July 16 the Genesee County Health Department contacted the Parks and Recreation office to let them know a patron had contracted COVID-19.

The patron reportedly visited Lake Callis Recreation Complex on July 15 and tested positive with the virus the next day.

The township decided to take all precautions and had all parks staff tested. The park was also immediately shut down, officials said.

“Once cleared we will begin a through sanitization of the park,” the social media post said. “We will update everyone when we know more. Thank you for your patience and understanding. We look forward to opening the park again soon.”
