Lapeer man dies after being hit by semi

MUNDY TWP. — Police in Genesee County said a 29-year-old Lapeer man died of his injuries Jan. 10 after being struck by a semi while walking along Linden Road.

Metro Police Authority Chief Matt Bade said the man was struck by a northbound semi on 5400 block of Linden Road between Hill Road and Maple Avenue at 2:45 a.m.

Genesee County Paramedics took the man to Hurley Hospital in critical condition, but later died of his injuries.

Bates said the man was walking north in the right lane of Linden Road when he was struck.

Bates said officers from the Flint Township Police Department and the Michigan State Police were on the scene. He added the Metro Police Authority reconstruction team assisted by Grand Blanc Township reconstruction officers. — P.F.
