FLUSHING — The League of Women Voters of Flint Area is sponsoring a live forum of candidates for State Representative in the 34th, 48th and 49th Districts, Oct. 12, 7-8:30 p.m. at the Flushing Township Community Hall, 6524 N. Seymour Road, Flushing.
The public is invited and encouraged to attend this educational event. Candidates will be asked questions from the League, as well as the public, and will be given equal opportunity to respond. Appropriate civility is expected at this non-partisan event.
The League of Women Voters (LWV) is a non-partisan, political advocacy organization encouraging informed and active participation in government. The LWV influences public policy through education and advocacy.
The LWV does not support or oppose any political party or candidate. Candidates in the 34th District are: Democrat Woodrow Stanley and Republican Bruce Roger. Candidates in the 48th District are: Democrat Pam Faris and Republican Jeffrey Woolman. Candidates in the 49th District are: Democrat Jim Ananich and Republican Robert J. Daunt. — G.G.
