FLINT – The Learning Dreams LLC, 5103 West Pierson Road, Suite, has a new location and is offering additional services.
Kori E. Carson Dean is the founder and CEO of Learning Dreams, LLC. Learning Dreams was organized in 2002. It started out as a home-based business that offered tutoring and educational advocacy services.
Due to an injury, Carson Dean was forced to stop offering continuous services. While recuperating, she return-ed to school to continue her professional development.
In January Learning Dreams reopened with expanded services and moved to its current location.
Carson Dean said she understands the personal struggles of a learning different student firsthand. She was first diagnosed with dyslexia in second grade. As she struggled to master her own learning difference, she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Spelman College, a Master of Education in Educational Psychology from Miami University of Ohio, an Educational Specialist degree from Saginaw Valley State University, a Master of Science in Biology from University of Michigan, and a Post-Master’s Certification in School Psychology from Eastern Washington University.
She also holds a K-12 Learning Disabilities teaching certificate in the State of Michigan, school psychologist certificate in the States of Michigan and Washington, and a Montessori diploma. Kori also earned her limited licensed psychologist designation for the State of Michigan.
Other staff member are also highly qualified and experienced in their fields of expertise, she said. Carson Dean is not unique as a team member for Learning Dreams. The Leadership Team includes Carson Dean, Yvonne Williams, OT, and Debora Ferguson, MD.
The staff has a combined experience of nearly 100 years, said Carson Dean.
Services offered are: Tutoring, Educational Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Speech and Language Therapy, Behavioral Medicine, Psychological Services, Educational Advocacy, Educational Technologies, Parent Support Groups, Professional Development, and Workshops.
“Our holistic approach uses comprehensive medical, psychological, and educational techniques to address learning and behavioral challenges,” she said.
In the near future, Learning Dreams will offer Continue Education credits for educators and support professionals, she said.
