Lions set unfortunate NFL record, “Gardy” retires and more

The Detroit Lions are off to a sweet 0-2 start. This doesn’t shock us Lions fans, does it?

The Lions got absolutely shellacked by the Packers 42-20 at Lambeau this past Sunday. The Lions jumped out to a quick double digit lead, only to see that evaporate quicker than a T-Bone steak on my dinner plate.

What the heck Detroit? That was the fourth straight time they have blown a double digit lead — an NFL record by the way! How can that even be possible? Detroit will set every dubious record in the NFL if you let them.

My next question is, how much longer is this clown Patricia going to be the head coach in Detroit? He is the biggest bumbling idiot on the sidelines in the entire NFL. I cannot stand this clown any longer.

This Detroit Lions team is awful and getting worse and worse. The defense is a train wreck! I didn’t think they could be worse than last year, but they are. I raise my glass and toast the Lions to another losing season and waste of all their fans’ time.

I guess Sundays are wide open to do other things besides watch the Lions. Maybe next year? Yeah sure, next year is always what we say about this football team.

The good thing is Martha Ford wears sun glasses and never sees the debacle on the field. The Lions travel to Arizona to lose to the Arizona Cardinals next Sunday.

The Tigers manager Ron Gardenhire has retired from managing the Detroit Tigers. Ron is leaving due to health reasons. I quit watching the Tigers due to health reasons this year. Ron has suffered from stomach issues and overall stress of managing at the MLB level. I have suffered much stress watching the Tigers the last three years. Ron was manager for three years in Detroit and 16 years overall at the major league level. The bench coach, Lloyd Mcclendon, will finish the year in the Tigers dugout as manager. I always like “Gardy” as a manager. The project the Tigers handed over to him was a no-win situation. I think he did the best job possible with what little talent was on the Tigers roster. I say “Gardy” enjoy your retirement and you will be missed in the Motown dugout.

The Stanley Cup comes down to Tampa Bay and Dallas. I feel as though this is a tremendous match up on the ice. The Dallas Stars won game one on Saturday night and game two is Monday. I think even though the Stars are up in the series I still like the Tampa Bay team to hoist the Cup in a grueling seven game series.

The NBA has four teams left in the playoffs. The Eastern Conference has Miami up 2-1 over the Boston Celtics. The Western Conference has the Los Angeles Lakers up 2-0 over the Denver Nuggets. The Denver Nuggets have zero chance of winning this series. I like the Miami Heat to take down the Boston Celtics.

The U.S. Open winner on Sunday was Bryson DeChambeau, who shot three under to finish at six under. Bryson was the only golfer to finish under par at Winged Foot golf course. The “Golf Hulk” destroyed everyone on Sunday and ended up winning by six shots. The closest golfer was Matt Wolff who shot even par. The golf course played like a U.S. Open golf course and I tip my fork to Bryson and his major golf victory.
