Local Salvation Army Thrift Stores need help

FLINT — Spring is just around the corner and it’s once again the time of the year to clean out closets, garages, and basements.

Remember The Salvation Army by donating gently used items to the local Thrift Stores. There is an urgent need for clothing, household items, furniture and more. Your tax deductible donation is desperately needed to help fill the shelves and racks.

Providing donated resale items at greatly reduced prices will help those who are struggling financially by stretching their dollars during these difficult economic times.

To help, drop off donations at any area Thrift Store — 4273 Corunna Rd. in Flint Twp., 2230 N. Dort Highway in Flint and 817 S. State St. in Davison. A Salvation Army representative will help unload your vehicle and issue a receipt for your contribution.

Donations may also be left at any Salvation Army collection bin. Larger items can be scheduled for pick up by simply calling 800-SA-TRUCK (800-728- 7825)..

Proceeds from The Salvation Army Family Thrift Stores are used to help the homeless, feed the needy, and provide alcohol and drug rehab services. Details: Call 810-234-2678. — G.G.
