Local talent development leader Wanda Bigelow honored

KALAMAZOO — Wanda Bigelow of GST Michigan Works! was awarded Michigan’s “Shining Star” Award today by the Michigan Works! Association for her efforts to meet employment needs in Genesee, Huron, Lapeer, Sanilac, Shiawassee and Tuscola counties.

Bigelow received the award at the Association’s annual conference in Kalamazoo.

Bigelow serves as the apprenticeship success coordinator for GST Michigan Works!. In this role, she assists companies with developing apprenticeship programs and assists with connecting job seekers with apprenticeship opportunities.

“Wanda has built outstanding relationships with employers, trade organizations and partners in order to get the job done,” said Luann Dunsford, chief executive officer of the Michigan Works! Association. “Her dedication to establishing and growing community partnerships makes her an excellent choice for this award.”

Bigelow has a reputation for going above and beyond to provide exemplary customer service.
