Loggers off ice indefinitely

LAPEER — The saga surrounding the Lapeer Loggers hockey team, members of the All American Hockey League, as the Polar Palace and League Commissioner Rod Davidson announced that the team is off the ice indefinitely.

A spokesperson at the Polar Palace in Lapeer said Friday that no further Loggers games will be played at the Arena, including Friday’s game with Battle Creek that did not take place on Sunday, Jan. 2 when the Loggers were locked out because of money owed to the Polar Palace.

Davidson said, “Our investor got a little nervous when he fond out the former owners are in possession of the equipment, merchandise, trademarks etc that belong to the Loggers. He is not moving forward any more at this point until we can get this ironed out.”
