FLINT TWP. — Linda Moore, director of the Carman-Ainsworth Senior Center on Graham Road for more than a decade, has been terminated.
Moore’s dismissal occurred April 14, according to a statement ready by Township Board Trustee Barb Vert at the May 5 township board meeting.
Vert is the township board’s representative to the senior center, which is owned by the township and operated cooperatively with CA Schools.
Reading from the statement, Vert said the Senior Citizen’s Center Board voted to end Moore’s employment as center director, social services coordinator and building supervisor.
“The board acknowledged the many positive things that have been accomplished by Linda Moore during her tenure as director,’’ the statement said. “However, the Board believed its vision and goals for the Senior Center were not being realized and that it was in the best interest of the members, participants, board and Senior Center to move in a new direction.”
Pam Luna, assistant director, has been named interim director while the board evaluates its leadership needs.
Moore could not be reached for comment. She was hired as center director in August 2003 and prior to that worked at community centers in Flint.
