Macy’s put on lockdown after threat



FLINT TWP. — On Tuesday. December 13, the Flint Township Police Department responded to Macy’s department store, 4600 Miller Rd, at the Genesee Valley Center for a suspicious situation. According to a police report, Macy’s associates received a suspicious phone call from a male who made threatening statements. The threats were generic in nature and as a result, the store was evacuated to ensure the safety of the public.

A search of the building was conducted in cooperation with canines from the Genesee County Sheriff’s Office, Oakland County Sheriff’s Office, Lapeer County Sheriff’s Office, and City of Flint Police Department. Nothing suspicious was located and the store reopened a short time later.
