Man arrested after allegedly robbing Speedway – twice

FLINT TWP. — Police arrested a man after he allegedly robbed the same Speedway, 6526 Corunna Rd., twice within a week.

Flint Township Police Chief Kevin Salter said the first robbery happened Feb. 23 at 4:42 a.m. when the suspect entered the store armed with a knife and stole money and cigarettes from the clerks.

On March 1 at 3:35 a.m., Flint Township officers responded to the same Speedway for the report of another armed robbery. The suspect was the same man from the robbery on Feb. 23. He again threatened the clerk with a knife and demanded money, which he took before fleeing.

Through investigation, Flint Township officers and detectives were able to identify the suspect as Dennis Horton. He was arrested, interviewed and lodged at the Genesee County Jail.

The Genesee County Prosecutor’s office has since reviewed the cases and two counts of armed robbery and one count of unlawful imprisonment have been brought against Horton.
