FLINT TWP. — A 30-year-old man was shot Thursday afternoon in Flint Township, and a short time later, the suspect turned himself in to police.
Flint Township police officers were called at about 3:39 p.m. to a home in the 3100 block of Devonshire Street, where they found the victim had been shot once in the chest with a pistol. They quickly learned from witnesses the alleged shooter was inside a residence in the immediate area. Police said the suspect, a 46-year-old Flint Township man, surrendered without incident.
An earlier report stated the victim was in critical condition at a local hospital.
The initial investigation revealed there was an argument before the shooting, but the cause of the argument is not yet known, police said. The case will be presented to the Genesee County Prosecutor’s Office for a review of charges.
The Flint Township Police Department was assisted at the scene by the City of Flint Police Department, the Michigan State Police and the Genesee County Sheriff’s Office.
