RICHFIELD TWP. — A 32-year-old Mt. Morris man was pronounced dead at the scene of a motorcycle/car accident Thursday morning on Irish Road.
The Richfield Township Police responded to the report of a collision between a Suzuki motorcycle and a Ford Excursion at 10:44 a.m. in the 4300 block of N. Irish Road, in front of Outdoor Adventures, 4391 Irish Rd.
The driver of the motorcycle, Brandon Neph, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Ford Excursion, a 79-year-old Oak Park man, was released.
The crash was investigated by the Davison Area Reconstruction Team (DART) and the Richfield Police were assisted by police officers from Davison Township, Davison City and the Genesee County Sheriff’s Department. The Davison-Richfield Area Fire Department was also on the scene.
A preliminary investigation revealed Neph was traveling northbound on his motorcycle when the driver of the Excursion turned out into the roadway from a driveway and the two vehicles collided.
Police said they think speed is believed to a factor.
