FLINT TWP. — A smoother ride is coming on bumpy Beveridge Road — one of many repaving projects this summer approved by the township board.
More than a half-million dollars is being spent this construction season on township roads, said Township Supervisor Karyn Miller. Costs are being met by a combination of millage funds and Community Development Block Grant Funds (CDBG).
A long list of residential roads slated for improvements include Diamond, Foxboro, Ridgecliffe, Kenova, Keith, Glen Ellen, St. Martins, Knollridge, Stoney Ridge, Cherry Tree, Peachwood and Willowwood.
Work is also planned for Ballenger Highway between Flushing Road and the Flint River and on Linden Road from Calkins to Beecher Roads.
The Linden Road project will impact access to Carman-Ainsworth High School. It is scheduled to begin around July 4 and be completed by the end of September, after school resumes.
Additionally, ditching and culvert work is being done on Court, Calkins, McCollum and Bertha.
