MARY L. ZEEMAN of Davison, age 85, passed away September 2, 2012 at Hurley Medical Center. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. today (Thursday), September 6, 2012, at Swartz Creek United Methodist Church, 7400 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek, MI; the Rev. Kevin Harbin officiating. Cremation will follow the service. There will be visitation at the church for one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Mary, fondly known as “Lovey,” was born May 5, 1927. She was the daughter of the late Malcolm and Lucy (Cameron) Lutze. Mary Lutze married her soul mate and best friend, Jacob Zeeman on June 3, 1950, in Flint. Jacob preceded her death on October 8, 2000. Mary was a member of Swartz Creek United Methodist Church. She was a life member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. Grandma Zeeman was a loved volunteer in Mrs. Daley’s classroom at Mayfield Elementary in Lapeer. Before retiring, she was a Legal Secretary for Paul and J. David Karr for many years.

Mary is gone, but not forgotten. She was warm, loving, smart, funny, and was the heart of our family. She was generous with her time, love and wisdom. She was devoted to and loved being surrounded by her family. Her beautiful heart touched everyone she met. It is difficult to imagine our lives without her.

She is survived by her daughter, Lucie A. Zeeman; son, Timothy (Cathy) Zeeman; 7 grandchildren, Jacob, Alexandria, Erin, Nicholas, Melissa, Jennifer, Matthew; 7 great-grandchildren, Ethan, Zakery, Carson, Aiden, Evangeline, Scarlett, Jane Olivia; sister, Phyllis Drewitt; beloved niece Bonnie McMullin and her children; many other nieces, nephews, and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Cecile, Inez, Gordon, Lura, and Thelma.
