— Mott Community College has launched yet another collaboration that offers a new four-year college option to benefit students.
Administrators with Cleary University and Mott Community College have come together to sign an articulation agreement, fostering a seamless transition for MCC students seeking a Bachelor of Science degree in Corporate Accounting at Cleary. The special signing ceremony was Nov. 24.
This agreement will allow acceptance of up to 83 semester credits toward the Bachelor of Science in Corporate Accounting degree at Cleary. There are a number of benefits for students n the terms of the MCC-Cleary articulation agreement. First, the Cleary application fee is waived for MCC students who may qualify for scholarships normally reserved for students who enroll at Cleary. In addition, there is no fee for prior learning credit evaluation accessed from the date a student enrolls at MCC through the first date of the student’s final term at Cleary. Cleary tuition includes all textbooks, which may include electronic textbooks as well and fees.
Dual Enrollment is another benefit. MCC and Cleary agree to expedite the student transition between institutions and to reduce administrative obstacles for MCC students in good academic standing while enrolled in an MCC degree program. These students are automatically admitted to Cleary after completing an application form and providing an official MCC transcript to meet Cleary admission standards. A minimum Mott Community College GPA of 2.0 is required.
The articulation agreement allows transfer of MCC coursework to Cleary that normally applies toward an MCC associate degree. In addition to the transfer of specific courses with Cleary equivalents, MCC coursework that does not align with particular Cleary courses will transfer as a block of credit and apply toward Cleary general education and elective requirements. Both MCC transfer program and career entry program coursework will transfer. All credits awarded by MCC as satisfying an MCC degree program requirement with respect to the course level and the grade earned by the students will be accepted by Cleary and will apply toward any approved Cleary major. Up to 83 semester credits may be transferred depending on the major selected.
This articulation agreement also acknowledges credit for prior learning, recognizing the development of collegelevel competencies in settings other than the traditional for-credit college course. MCC students may earn up to 30 semester credits (45 quarter hours) toward a Cleary degree through documentation of non-college learning (i.e., MCC non-credit training programs). MCC students enrolled in a Cleary degree program do not pay any additional fees for prior learning documentation processing or for transfer credits that are awarded through the first day of the student’s final term.
