MCC donates medical supplies to area hospitals

FLINT — As part of its commitment to the community, Mott Community College (MCC) is reaching out in multiple ways to ensure the health and safety of Flint and Genesee County. The Health Sciences department will lend ventilators, used in laboratory demonstrations and for experiential learning, to all three local hospitals during the Coronavirus crisis.

The Health Sciences and Science and Mathematics departments also donated classroom and lab supplies to the three area hospitals on March 23, including:

• 1,000 nurse bouffant caps

• 500 shoe covers

• 12 Sterile Drapes

• 700 Masks (Paper with Ties)

• 250 Masks with Shields

• 30 Tubs Sanitary Wipes

• Nitrile Gloves (more than 15,000 pair)

• Vinyl Gloves (more than 1,500 pair)

“It is an honor to be able to help local hospitals with supplies needed to address the current health crisis,” said MCC President, Dr. Beverly Walker- Griffea. “It is imperative that we all do what we can to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus and protect the health and safety of our community.”
