Constantine stated, “As a native Floridian, I grew up in the 50’s in St. Petersberg, Florida very close to Sarasota, the winter home of the Ringling Brothers Barnum and Bailey Circus. The world of carnivals and freak shows played a huge role in my childhood and my memories. I revisit those memories using a feminist lens. I use the freak show as a signifier for the abject body and a way of examining otherness. My work presents an edgy and disturbing world of gaffs, fakes and unique people.”
