MCC president honored by Zeta Phi Beta

FLINT — Mott Community College (MCC) President, Dr. Beverly Walker-Griffea will be honored by the Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Zeta Beta Zeta Flint Finer Womanhood, Inc., at 2 p.m. on March 11, with their “Finer Woman Within the Community” award. The event will be at the Mt. Olive Family Worship Center.

“I am humbled to have been chosen by the Zeta Phi Beta Sorority as a recipient of one of their Finer Women awards,” said Walker-Griffea. “It represents an extraordinary sisterhood of women and I am proud to share in their legacy of service.”

Zeta Phi Beta is an international, traditional African American, sorority. Its mission is to foster the ideas of service, charity, scholarship, civil and cultural endeavors, sisterhood and finer womanhood.

These ideals are reflected in the sorority’s national program for which its members and auxiliary groups provide voluntary service to staff, community outreach programs, fund scholarships, support organized charities, and promote legislation for social and civic change. — G.G.
