MCC to raise funds for hurricane Harvey relief

FLINT – Mott Community College (MCC) is mounting a twomonth Hurricane Harvey relief campaign called “Mott Cares” campus-wide. All dollars raised will be collected and distributed equally to three Houston-area community colleges, including Houston Community College; Lone Star College; and San Jacinto College.

“We understand here at Mott how it feels to have community college family members reach out from across the nation and show they stand with you during a difficult time,” said MCC President, Dr. Beverly Walker-Griffea. “Now it is our time to do what we do best. To serve. We want to pay forward the blessings that we received during The Flint Water Crisis.”

Additionally, the MCC Student Life office will coordinate having students create messages of encouragement to send to the three Houston-are community colleges during MCC’s Fall Rally event on Sept. 13, and the MCC Athletic program at MCC will send t-shirts to the athletic departments of Houston Community College, Lone Star College, and San Jacinto College. – L.R.
